I come from a family built on hard work and sacrifice. My parents were migrant workers from Matamoros, Mexico, and growing up on the border taught me discipline, responsibility, and resilience from an early age.
At 18, I joined the Army, where I developed structure, focus, and the ability to perform under pressure—lessons that shaped how I approach both training and life.
After transitioning out, I had to rebuild from scratch. I moved to San Antonio with just $2,000 and no guarantees. I started in the fitness industry at LA Fitness but was held behind a desk, so I moved to TruFit, where I became a Fitness Manager and Certified Personal Trainer.
Through my experience in multiple gyms, I saw what was missing. That’s when I realized—if the environment I wanted didn’t exist, I had to build it myself.
Excalibur Barbell Club is the result of that decision.
A hybrid strength facility that blends a clean open front hall with a dedicated iron zone in the back. Built with heavy duty machines intention and a culture that values real training and discipline.
This gym represents my journey and anyone who has had to start from zero and fight their way up. Excalibur is more than a gym. It is purpose resilience and a standard.
